Questions

Do I have to renew it?

No. Montana registers vessels permanently, so there is no yearly renewal and no renewal charge. That is also why the $1,195 permanent registration upgrade does not apply to them: they do not need it.

Can I use it in another state?

Montana registration is recognized elsewhere, but each state sets its own rules for operating on its waters. Check the state you plan to launch in.

Is the trailer included?

No. A boat trailer is a separate registration, priced at $995.
